Danny Tenaglia is a house DJ and producer from Brooklyn, New York, who came of age under Larry Levan's influence at the Paradise Garage before building his own legendary residencies in 1990s New York -- Twilo from 1996, the Tunnel from 1998, and the weekly "Be Yourself" night at Vinyl (later Arc) from 2000 to 2004. He spent 1985 to 1990 in Miami, resident at Cheers, before returning to New York as house music's 1990s renaissance took hold. His sound spans tribal and garage house through progressive and tech-house, and he's credited with pioneering a darker, percussion-heavy New York house sound. His debut album Hard & Soul (1995, Tribal Records) and follow-up Tourism (1998) anchor a catalog that also includes multiple Global Underground and Balance mix compilations, plus a 2002 Grammy nomination for his remix of Depeche Mode's "I Feel Loved."
